I’ve had this little gem for almost 5 months, and it’s become my primary computer. I’d been dreading an upgrade from Windows XP, which is compatible with everything I run - while Vista and Win 7 are not. This machine is much faster and roomier than the two computers I’d been using, and for the price I paid, has been an unbeatable deal. Thus far, I’ve no immediate plans to upgrade to a Win 7 computer (and there’s no reason to run Win 7 on this one).
With the S10-2 Lenovo played a game of give and take.
On the outside, the netbook looks and feels cheap. Everything is plastic — even the metal looking bits. This makes for a very light netbook, and one that can survive a drop without much damage [speaking from experience]. Even the decorative colors look like a half-hearted attempt at dressing this device up. Finally, the battery has a hump in it that allows device to sit at an angle. This is a great feature because it allows the netbook too cool efficiently, but at the same time makes S10-2 a bit thick. If aesthetics are important to your computing devices this might not be the netbook for you.
I looked at several brands before deciding on Lenovo Netbook. I am very happy with my decision. The keyboard is slightly smaller than other 10 "netbook, it is true, with few modifications (I am a touch typer). Just annoying feature is the right of way, as others have mentioned. That said, I feel the keyboard is much better than the other, in my opinion. Moreover, the new model (S10-2) with a better keyboard layout.
