ASUS Eee PC 1005HA 10.1-Inch Netbook (10.5 Hours) - The Ultimate Power Netbook

Design: The ASUS Eee PC 1005HA offers a slim, tapered design along with a six-cell battery. This translates to a slightly thicker and heavier body, all in black or blue and a glossy surface finish. Nevertheless, the extra weight is negligible, especially in the light of its amazing battery life. The flat, wide keyboard is comfortable with a full-size right ‘Shift’ key. The touch pad comes with a wrist rest and is quite responsive with a quick-access button above the keyboard for disabling the touch pad. The netbook offers a 10.1-inch back-lit LED display at 1024×600 native resolution, which uses less power. The actual netbook measures at 10.3 by 7.1 inches with a height of 1.1 to 1.4 inches and a weight of 2.9 pounds.
Specifications: Specification-wise, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA runs on a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor with 1GB of RAM (533MHz DDR2). With a 160GB 5400rpm hard drive the netbook offers plenty of space. It uses the Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset with integrated Mobile Intel GMA 950 and the system runs on Windows XP. The hard disk drive is augmented by a free 10GB online data storage subscription for backing up files to a remote server. Connection-wise the netbook offers a VGA port, headphone/microphone jacks, three USB 2.0 ports, an RJ-45 Ethernet LAN port and an integrated card reader. The netbook connects via wired LAN, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth.
Features & Performance: Processing and multitasking speed was pretty good on the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA, but one of the star attraction of this model would have to be its battery life. With an impressive 6 hours and 53 minutes battery life for nonstop video playback on a single charge, the netbook lasts even longer for other basic tasks. Asus claims that the batteries can last up to 10.5 hours on a single charge. I often use it to view YouTube videos, word processing and replying e-mails. Thus far, the battery life has average around 8-9 hours, which is still extremely impressive by any standards. All in all, the ASUS Eee PC 1005HA is an awesome netbook for the corporate and high-end user. Due to its amazing battery life and good storage capacity it should benefit most mobile road warriors greatly while average users will have an even longer time to stay online without having to look for a spare power socket.
